mmmm,I'm not really understand what you mean but maybe you can try :
for example make 2 object that have a different shape after that selection both of them(put them together/put the other object in the top and the other in the bottom) you can use you right click and choose the cliping mask.
If that the result that you want><I just not really understand the question
maybe you can give an example from you case^^

yeah i know how to do that kind of mask but i wanted to mask everything around that without having to select everything around, but i worked it out i guess... ill have to try again later.. right now im kinda ... in need to go outside.. lol.. so ill do that for a few days then try again xD

what i was trying to say is pretty much like, is it possible to make a clipping mask for everything thats outside my selection... i don't know how else to say it
